Effective
7/1/10, the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) Jones County Office is a
less than full time office. Less than full time office means that the
DHS office is not open to the public on a daily basis. This change will not
delay or reduce services.
Residents of Jones County will be able to apply for
DHS services in either Linn or Jones County or by applying online at: www.oasis.iowa.gov
Please call ahead to arrange an appointment with an
Income Maintenance Worker or a Social Worker at either office. The number is
319-462-3557. The Linn County office is located at 411 3rd St. SE in Cedar
Rapids. Office hours there are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You should continue to
report changes to your Income Maintenance Worker by calling the Customer
Service Call Center at 1-877-DHS-5678 or 1-877-347-5678, Fax: 1-877-238-0015.
The
Jones County office will continue to be located at 105 Broadway Place in
Anamosa. Income Maintenance Workers will be available for scheduled
appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week. Please call 319-462-3557
to make an appointment. Social Workers will be in the local community available
for home visits, court, and family team meetings as they always have been.
Child abuse allegations and services to assist families in
assuring their children are safe will be addressed from the Linn County DHS
office. Child abuse referrals may be made by contacting the Linn County Office
at 319-892-6800.

abuse referrals after normal office hours can be made by calling the Child
Abuse Hotline 1-800-362-2178.
