4.      They must receive medication for this disorder.

Eligibility is based on the child's diagnosis.  There are no income guidelines.

Does your child have an emotional or behavioral disorder?   Are you having difficulty paying for their medication?

Jones County General Assistance might be able to help.

Jones County has received limited funds to help pay for medication for children with a mental health diagnosis.   These funds will only be available until June 30, 2009.  The Linn County Wraparound has dedicated a portion of their Wraparound Funding to Jones County.  This money will be used to help pay for medication for children with an emotional or behavioral disorder.

Who qualifies for help?

·         Children and adolescents who reside in Jones County.

·         Children who have a current emotional or behavioral diagnosis, or need an evaluation to determine a diagnosis.

·         The child’s emotional or behavioral difficulty has interfered with family, school or community activities.

·         Eligibility is based on the child’s diagnosis. There are no income guidelines or restrictions.

What do we mean by an emotional or behavioral disorder?

Any child who has been diagnosed with a severe emotional or behavioral disorder may qualify for these supplemental assistance funds. If the child has not been diagnosed but you suspect the child may have an emotional disorder, wraparound funds can pay for a psychiatric evaluation to find out what may be wrong. Some examples of disorders that we can cover under the wraparound fund are:

·         ADD/ADHD

·         Attachment Disorder

·         Adjustment Disorder

·         Conduct Disorder

·         Depression, Anxiety (mood disorders)

·         Oppositional Defiant Disorder

·         Other

We are not able to approve funding for children diagnosed with Developmental Disorders, Autism, or Asperger’s, Mental Retardation, Substance Abuse etc. unless there is a co-existing diagnosis of an emotional or behavioral disorder.

What can the fund help with?

If insurance or another program can’t pay for it and parents can’t afford it, the Jones County Kids Wraparound Fund can help with:

·         Prescription medication

·         Medication management appointments

·         Screening, assessment and evaluations
