 The County Auditor enters and maintains records of all real estate transfers in the County. The Auditor keeps the plat maps and transfer books current, so that the public can examine the books to determine property ownership. The Auditor's office works closely with area realtors, attorneys, property owners, land surveyors, and other individuals who deal with real estate transactions.

 

 

 In October 2007, Jones County made its Geographic Information System (GIS), property assessment and tax data available to the public through the internet via the Schneider Corporation's Beacon interface. This website allows the user a true one stop shop to all real estate information pertaining to any tax parcel in the county. The search tool allows you to look for parcels by address and parcel identification number for ease. The comp search tool allows you to compare different properties with similar characteristics making it a very valuable tool to real estate agents, appraisers, banks and the public.
