In 2004, 78 GPS monuments were set by Dan Corbin Inc. as part of the Jones County GIS project. State Plane coordinates were gathered for these new and existing GPS monuments to create the county’s digital orthophography. The county now possesses 96 survey grade GPS monuments to benefit land surveyors in preparing plats of survey and subdivisions for the citizens of Jones County.
